Steam Labs rolls out new discoverability experiments

The boffins over at Steam Labs have provided more details on two new experimental discoverability features heading to Steam.

Report- Google plans ‘Game Certified Device’ standard for Android

Google is reportedly rolling out a certification program that aims to somewhat standardize the hardware powering Android devices, specifically those that aim to market themselves as game-centric mobile phones.

PlayStation 4 hardware unveiled, priced at $399

Sony has unveiled the official model for its PlayStation 4. It bears a not unsurprising resemblance to its direct rival, the Xbox One, but smaller and, dare we say, cuter. Sony also promised a host of crossmedia offerings on the platform from day one, including its Video and Music Unlimited services, as well as Netflix and, at a later time, Flixster. In the closing of its E3 press conference, Sony has announced it is pricing the PlayStation 4, set to release holiday season 2013, will be priced at $399 US. This will undercut its direct the competitor, the Microsoft Xbox One, by $100. Take-Two raises fiscal outlook as recurrent spending experiences record growth

Take-Two Interactive has posted better-than-expected results for the third quarter ended December 31, 2018, thanks to strong performances from key titles like Red Dead Redemption 2 and NBA 2K19

According to the company's latest financials, net revenue rose to $1.25 billion from $480.8 million. Recurrent consumer spending (from virtual currency, add-on content, and in-game purchases) accounted for 24 percent of that figure, and grew by a record 31 percent year-on-year.

Square Enix has had a great year so far

Square Enix today reported a notable leap in profits for the first half of the current fiscal year, and revised its full year profits, suggesting it may double its original forecast. The company says that its video game business is expanding all over the place — mobile, console and browser games all performed favorably for the company in the last six months. On mobile, Dragon Quest Monsters Super Light and Schoolgirl Strikers are bringing in the cash, while MMOs Final Fantasy XIV and Dragon Quest X are also doing the job.
