It was another big weekend at the box office, with newcomers Halloween Kills and The Last Duel debuting in theaters and No Time To Die entering its second weekend in the US.
Halloween Kills, which stars Jamie Lee Curtis, earned $50.35 million over the Friday-Sunday period, and that number is good for a pair of new box office records, according to Deadline. That’s the biggest opening weekend for a horror movie during the pandemic, outpacing A Quiet Place Part II ($47.5 million). Halloween Kills also now holds the record for the best opening weekend for an R-rated movie during the pandemic, crushing The Suicide Squad ($26.2 million).

Halloween Kills is also available on Peacock, but the company did not announce any earnings statistics, viewership data, or information about how many people signed up to watch.
Elsewhere this weekend, Ridley Scott’s The Last Duel–which stars Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Jodie Comer, and Adam Driver–flopped with $4.8 million at the box office, finishing fifth.
No Time To Die made another $24.3 million this weekend in the US, while Venom: Let There Be Carnage added another $16.5 million and Addams Family 2 picked up $7.2 million more.
